Two from Thoman (1 of 2)

In this very brief post, blogger and simple/organic church advocate Roger Thoman says it like it should be, and like it shouldn’t be.

Although “May His kingdom come” is always an appropriate cry, I’d say that, when the “should be” list is realized, the kingdom of our Lord will have come, in large measure.

HOW REFRESHING! More and more people are coming across my path who realize that “the church” is not a building. We are the body of Christ…and as such, as Thoman stated…1. A way of life (extravagant lovers of God engaging the world 24/7 with love, power, and word)
    2. A simple community (a spiritual family that gathers with full participation)
    3. Natural, organic multiplication of Jesus followers who, in turn, engage the world.

Understanding of the gift we have been given, our appreciation for God’s grace…daily…we’ll be extravagant lovers of God, engaging the world 24/7 with love, power, and word. 2. and 3. will naturally result! Thanks for sharing, Brian!

Thank you, Anne, for the Thoman augments here. I rarely read one of his bulletins but that I say “attaboy” to him, too. The living-it-out is the problem for me; I don’t engage in the Way of life consistently enough to make me get out of my box church-wise. The dreaming hurts sometimes….
